Almost all of the films mentioned so far in articles, or listed as nominees or winners on the Hugo/Nebula pages, are available from amazon.com on either DVD or VHS, most on both formats. Most are genre works of course, but I hope you don't mind that I listed a few like Citizen Kane and Casablanca (both mentioned in my Gene Wolfe essay). After all, they are two of the best and most popular films of all time. And then there's Moby Dick, the screenplay for which was co-written by Ray Bradbury. I did cheat a bit here and there, including sequels of films mentioned, such as Alien Resurrection, and two of the nine Star Trek films, which were not nominated for any awards, and so far not mentioned elsewhere on other pages. I figured that whenever I or someone else got around to reviewing those particular series then all of the ones in the series would probably be mentioned at that time. There is one film on the list that is not available on either format at this time -The Bed-Sitting Room - but it is one with which I am very familiar. Unfortunately, it may never be released to video. Regardless, I will definitely be doing a review for it some day. It had been many years since I had seen it, but I taped it recently off Turner Classic Movies. I have provided the amazon link for the widescreen format where available. If that is not to your liking, they also provide a link on their pages for all available formats. I have recently made the upgrade to DVD, so that now makes four different formats for which I have a collection; Beta and VHS tapes, laserdisc, and now DVD.
