Almost all of the films on this page have been reviewed, or mentioned in other articles, or listed as nominees or winners on the Hugo/Nebula Award pages. This list is mainly for genre works, but there is one non-genre film I have left on the list, Empire of the Sun, and I did that for two reasons. Not only do I think it is Spielberg's best film to date (that I have seen), it also relates to real-life experiences of one of my favorite authors, J. G. Ballard. I did cheat a bit here and there, including some sequel titles which have not been reviewed yet, or not nominated for any awards. I figured that whenever I or someone else got around to reviewing those particular series then all of the ones in the series would probably be mentioned at that time. There is a film that has never been released in the US, that being The Bed-Sitting Room, nominated for a Hugo in 1970. It is one with which I am familiar, and I've been meaning to do a review of it for a long time. I taped it off Turner Classic Movies a while back, and even bought a Region 2 Blu-Ray off amazon.co.uk, not realizing my Sony won't play alternate-region discs. Hopefully one of these days I'll either get a multi-region Blu-Ray player or it will be officially released in the US. I am providing that UK release link though, in case anyone else can take advantage of it. And lastly, there is only one film that has never been released on any video format, The World, the Flesh & the Devil, nominated for a Hugo in 1960. [UPDATE: It is now available on DVD-R and Manufactured-On-Demand by amazon.com.]

If you see DVD (OOP) it means any previous disc editions are out of production, so in that case I have also provided a VHS link if Amazon shows that. Believe it or not, I still have a working VHS player. Of course it is inevitable that some of these disc editions will go out of production, and even now a few of the VHS titles are only available used, but I will endeavor to do a better job in the future of updating this page.
